Black Aluminum Oxide
Black aluminum oxide is an artificial black corundum used for abrasives. It is produced from the fusion of bauxite and reducing agents in an electric arc furnace. Black fused aluminum oxide contains specific ferro oxides and silica that give it its black appearance. It has a hardness of 9 Mohs. Its characteristics include high strength, better bonding ability, reduced heat generation, a smooth surface, and a high finish. It is suitable for surfaces of bicycles, machinery, hard metal tools, medical devices, and glass products. It does not contain respirable free silica (SiO2) and complies with occupational health and safety criteria. Our expert technical team will be happy to assist you.
Applications:
Black aluminum oxide is a pure and very hard abrasive. It is used in the production of industrial floors, coating or bonding, rust and lime removal, and cleaning of surfaces such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, glass, stone, and others before applying a matte finish.
