Glass Beads
Glass beads, also known as glass balls, are one of the most popular non-metallic abrasives. The dust generated during abrasive blasting does not contain respirable crystalline silica (SiO2), which means they pose no risk to operators and the environment. Glass beads are a mineral, iron-free, reusable abrasive with a wide range of applications. Due to their (round) particle shape, they have a low abrasive impact, making them ideal for gentle cleaning. Applications:
Glass beads are used in both dry and wet blasting applications. They provide a much smoother and shinier satin finish on steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, aluminum, and stone surfaces, while also aiding in polishing and deburring. Additionally, they are used as a filler in the chemical and construction industries, and as highly reflective microbeads for road marking (road line paints).
