Garnet is a universal abrasive used in both dry and wet sandblasting applications with pressurized air. When garnet strikes a metal surface, it does not spark or generate static electricity. The garnet grains have very sharp edges, providing a higher cutting efficiency than sand or slag. Garnet sand is a universal, mineral, and iron-free product. Its primary uses are high-pressure waterjet cutting and as a filtration material. Due to its sharp, self-renewing edges, garnet can be used repeatedly, similar to brown fused alumina.
